Expands or compresses the width of text objects based on new starting and ending points.

TEXTFIT operates on text objects only. To fit multiline text (mtext) objects, explode the mtext objects to convert them into text objects.

Command: TEXTFIT

Select Text to stretch or shrink: Use an object selection method

Specify end point or [Start point]: Specify a new end point, or enter S to specify a new start point

Pick new starting point: Specify a new start point

ending point: Specify a new endpoint

NOTE: The default setting uses the justification point of the text object as the starting point.

Example

In this example, the width of the text object is compressed to fit within the rectangle. The height does not change.

Select the text:

Specify new starting and ending points:
