To Set the Timeout Value for Network or Windows System Printers

 
 
 
  1. Do one of the following:
    • Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer you want work with, and click Printer Properties.
    • Windows 8: Right-click the Windows Start screen (or use the swipe up gesture from the bottom edge while on the Start screen). Click All Apps Windows System Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer you want work with, and click Printer Properties.
    • Windows 8.1: On the Windows Start screen, click the All Apps button located near the lower-left corner of the screen (or use the swipe up gesture from the bottom edge of the screen). Scroll to the Windows System section and click Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer you want work with, and click Printer Properties.
    • Windows 10: Click the Windows Start button All Apps Windows System Control Panel Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer you want work with, and click Printer Properties.
  2. In the Properties dialog box, click the Ports tab.
  3. On the Ports tab, select the LPT port that the printer uses, and then click Configure Port.
  4. In the Transmission Retry box, enter the number of seconds.
  5. Click OK.
