To Separate Non-intersecting Volumes in a Composite 3D Solid

 
 
 
NOTE:This is a typical cleanup operation can be applied to a composite 3D solid with volumes that have empty space between them.

  1. In the 3D Modeling workspace, click Home tabSolid Editing panelSolid Editing drop-downSeparate.
  2. Select the 3D solid object and exit the command.

There is no visible difference in the result except that any non-intersecting volumes are now independent 3D objects.
