FAQ: Why Do I Get an "Out of Memory" Error Message When Rendering?

The amount of memory required by the renderer depends on the number and type of elements in a scene. A scene can include 3D objects with materials and user-defined lights. When the amount of memory required to complete a rendering exceeds the amount available, an "Out of Memory" error message is displayed. Reduce the number of elements in the scene being rendered or try to free up system resources before attempting to render the scene again.

NOTE:Running out of memory is more common on 32-bit workstations than 64-bit workstations due to the amount of RAM installed on the workstation and that is accessible by the operating system.
