GROUPDISPLAYMODE (System Variable)

Controls how grips are displayed when group selection is turned on and an object in a group is selected.

Value	Description
0	Displays grips on all objects in the selected group
1	Displays a single grip at the center of the grouped objects
2	Displays a bounding box around the grouped objects, and displays a single grip at the center

By default, selecting an object in a group results in all the objects belonging to the group being selected. Group selection is controlled by the PICKFIRST system variable.
